Guys, cut me some slack, please?

The kids have returned to school yesterday, my morning started with feeling knackered after not having had a good nights sleep, for once it wasn’t down to the kids waking me up, shocking I know!
Yet again it all seemed to be going well, I was showered, dressed and make up done. I picked out some clothes for my two year old daughter Dakota, then we headed downstairs to see how close Jacob, my seven year old son, was to being ready.

To my surprise he was ready, although he was sat in the armchair explaining to me that he had hurt his back, you may read this and think oh my, what a horrible mum, so before these thoughts pop into your head and you make that judgement, I will give you a little back story into Jacob's recent behaviour.
At the end of the school holidays my son hurt his arm which led him to go to A&E, I am not clear on the ins and outs exactly with what happened, although the hospital informed his dad he had dislocated it.
When he was younger he suffered from pulled elbow, for those of you who don't know what pulled elbow is, I have put a link at the bottom. Due to him suffering from this on several occasions when he was younger it has made us very weary of ensuring this does not happen again.
On his return from holiday with his dad (after the trip to A&E) I took Jacob to the hospital for a follow up appointment after he was balling his eyes out telling me it was hurting. This went on for a week, my partner was convinced that he was putting it on and I stupidly defended him, although I say stupidly he is my son, and I like to see the best in people not the worst. Anyway cutting a long story short, during this week I had a phone call from his school, saying that he had hurt his arm again and could I go collect him.

After a wasted trip to A&E, and feeling completely embarrassed for wasting the hospitals time, his arm was fine. Having since sat down with Jacob SEVERAL times to tell him the story of the boy who cried wolf, and that one day he will really hurt himself and that I am not likely going to take him seriously, he just doesn't seem to get it.
On that note lets fast forward to yesterday morning......he starts stumbling round the house, telling me he can't walk without holding on to the sides. I ask him to walk across the kitchen to me, then SMACK, he flops onto the floor.....honestly I think this kid is going to be an actor when he is older, or a footballer, well not a footballer but that's another story.
In the end as we were about to leave to go to school, I gave him a Calpol Sixplus Fast Melt.....Oh my goodness, these things are amazing, they helped him walk within seconds. Honestly, I gave it to him and he walked to the car in under a minute, WITHOUT holding anything........seriously kid you must think I was born yesterday! I just looked at him, his response was 'WHAT?' I politely or maybe not so politely replied 'You know what'.
This was all before 9am this morning! Arrrrgggghhhh!
If that wasn't bad enough I had arranged to meet up with a friend for a catch up while taking the kids to the soft play. Sounds lovely doesn't it, apart from the amount of half conversations we must of had as the darling Dakota decided she would consistently go to the top levels of the play areas and refuse to come down by herself. Which meant I had to squeeze my way up through the nets to get to her and help her down.

It got to the point I left her at the top for a while, as let's face it, she wasn't moving. She was sat there whinging, looking at me and around for a few minutes. Eventually I went and helped her down AGAIN, mainly because another parent in this establishment had approached me advising me that my daughter was stuck. I thanked them, as if I had generally not noticed I would be grateful for this information.

Eventually we admitted defeat and left to go shopping, headed back to my friends house to grab some lunch. We actually managed to have a few conversations while the girls played nicely.
I would like to inform you that Jacob's back in completely fine now (as he informs me) and he is well enough to go out trick or treating with the neighbour's daughter this evening!
Breathe in, Breathe out, tomorrow is a new day.
Love and light to you all
